Renata PILKAITYTE (1974), senior researcher and assoc. prof. at Coastal Research and Planning Institute, Klaipeda University (Lithuania), specializes in plankton ecology and hydrobotany. She is a coordinator of international MSc programme “Erasmus Mundus in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation” at Klaipeda University. She published 7 peer-reviewed research papers.

Experience Higher education:

R.Pilkaityte works at Klaipeda University since 2003, some summer courses and lectures were given by her during her PhD studies at this university since 1999.

RECENT PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROJECTS
Ongoing project: A system for the sustainable management of Lithuanian marine resources using novel surveillance, modeling tools and an ecosystem approach (2008-2011). Recently completed project (2005-2009): MARBEF (Marine Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning).
